The Department of Environmental Education effectively uses the education process to allow all people to understand the relationship between humans and the environment. Through the improvement of cognition and awareness, and the change of values, it will then encourage citizens to care about and proactively protect the environment, so that the environment and resources can be used sustainably. The quality of life and environment of human beings of all generations can also be guaranteed (Environmental Education Law, 2010).
In March 2022, our country officially announced the "Taiwan 2050 Net-Zero Emission Pathway Blueprint", which provides the trajectory and action path to net-zero in 2050, and promotes four major transformation strategies and two major foundations, including the social transformation strategy and the Executive Yuan environment Since 109, the National Protection Agency has been linked to the "Green Life for All" promoted by the United Nations Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Broadly speaking, it conveys the concept of a friendly environment. In view of this, in order to integrate environmental education into life and help different people learn about the environment and participate in its improvement, environmental education with local ecological characteristics is provided to enable the public to achieve a sense of local environmental identity, and key planning is carried out "World Environment Day ~ Environmental Education Promotion Train", "Earth Day ~ Environmental Protection Team Directors Go on Mission to Defend the Earth", "Love the Environment and Green Life Series Activity Plan" and other unique and innovative programs, through outdoor learning, Different methods of experience, practice and courses lead the public to go deep into local characteristic sites and experience on-the-spot learning of environmental knowledge through education and entertainment, and to take root in the attitude of respect for the environment from an early age. It is promoted to the whole people through multi-media publicity channels. The concept of environmental education is also incorporated into the concept of green life for all, and the correct knowledge and attitudes of environmental education are conveyed. Through the promotion of various activities and the conveying of the concepts of green life, green tourism, and green office, Nantou County actively promotes the concept of environmental education through publicity. This will enable the Environmental Protection Bureau to complement each other more effectively in the implementation of environmental education policies and measures, so that people can gradually transform their lives and move towards a green life.
